Jordan Credit Union began in December 1950 with the goal of serving employees of the Jordan School District and their families. In January 1951, it received its federal charter and officially began helping local educators save and borrow. As membership grew, the credit union opened its own branch in Sandy in 1968.

A major expansion came in 2000, when Jordan Credit Union broadened membership eligibility to people who lived, worked, attended school, volunteered, or worshipped in Salt Lake County. Its field of membership later expanded beyond Salt Lake County and now includes Davis, Morgan, Salt Lake, Tooele, Utah, and Weber counties.

Jordan Credit Union’s physical footprint remains concentrated in Salt Lake County, with traditional branches in Draper, Riverton, Sandy, and West Jordan, along with Virtual Teller and ATM locations in Herriman and Midvale. The credit union also maintains a corporate office in South Jordan. Alongside its branch network, Jordan Credit Union has continued expanding its online and mobile banking services.

Community involvement remains part of the credit union’s identity. Jordan Credit Union supports local schools, scholarships, community events, and organizations such as Primary Children’s Hospital while continuing its original focus on personalized service and long-term member relationships.

Jordan Credit Union began in 1950 to serve employees of the Jordan School District and their families. It received its federal charter in 1951 and later expanded from an education-based credit union into a community institution serving eligible members across Davis, Morgan, Salt Lake, Tooele, Utah, and Weber counties. Its branch network remains concentrated in Salt Lake County, supported by Virtual Teller locations and digital banking services.

Jordan Credit Union offers checking and savings accounts, certificates, credit cards, auto and personal loans, recreational vehicle financing, student loans, mortgages, home equity products, and business services. Its product lineup includes rewards checking, money market accounts, growth certificates, ITIN mortgage options, and lending for both consumers and businesses. Jordan Credit Union may be a practical option for eligible Utah residents who prefer a smaller credit union with local branches, broad membership eligibility, and access to a full range of everyday financial products.
